Air Max Lab Event 1

On Saturday Nike Au opened the doors for the first time to the Air Max Lab. The Air Max Lab is a multi storey building in Sydney taken over by Nike AU in the Lead up to Air Max Day on the 26th. On Saturday they presented the Max talk, a discussion with a panel of Air Max Experts on the evolution of the Air Max and the sneaker game.

Woody, the founder of sneaker freaker, Jazz Bonifacio (instagram: @jazzbonifacio) sneaker designer and enthusiast and all round sneaker legend Christopher Kevin Au (instagram: @chrisropherkevinau) who is also one of the key members of Life Without Andy, Spent two hours of there time leading an interesting and eye opening conversation surrounding Air Max's and the sneaker game as a whole.

It Was amazing to hear from three different generations of sneaker head. Each with varying takes on the state of the sneaker game at the moment particularly young resellers and the hype surrounding shoes today. Woody in particular found it strange that young kids had access to such money and were spending so much on kicks when in his day it was something idolised but that you may not have.

The other big difference between the three panelists were there favourite air max models, Jazz is a big fan of 90's, Woody a big fan of 1's and Chris a huge supporter of the 95 (the 95's on Display were from Chris' collection, the 90's from Jazz's). It was fantastic to see s many sneaker head sin the same place sharing an interesting conversation on what some people may consider a fairly mundane items but for me and many many others shoes are an emotional fantastic thing that has so much meaning in our lives! Next for Nike AU at The Max Lab is the Artists of Air showcase on the 17th of February. I hope to see even more familiar faces around for that!
